Nordic forward prices are strengthening on Wednesday morning due to stronger CO2 prices, traders said.
The Q3 10 contract last traded at EUR 46.85/MWh at Nord Pool, up EUR 0.30 from Tuesday, while the 2011 contract last traded at EUR 45.70/MWh, up EUR 0.60. "Both the macroeconomic picture and coal and gas prices are down, but emissions are up. It is clear that the strong CO2 price is lifting the forwards on Nord Pool, and also the German forwards,” said a Danish trader.
