Prices have rocketed Monday morning, with the front contracts gaining around three euros from Friday. A high system price and continued dry and cold forecasts are the main drivers.
“The spot and the weather push prices up. The rise has been severe, but can in my opinion be defended. We need to raise our prices to get more import, because the situation is starting to look pretty bad,” says Sigve Ekeland at Lyse Handel.March is probably going to be record dry, he says. The dry weather trend is being backed up by firmer prices for carbon and German power.
