Nordic Market - All about carbon

Most parameters pointed down this morning, such as wetter forecasts, lower oil prices and decreasing German power prices. When the emission figures were published, however, prices jumped in all markets.
The front end of the Nord Pool curve has come off slightly from Friday, probably due to wetter forecasts and a slightly lower system price than estimated. Nordic Market - Turning south
Nordic power prices have come off during the morning session, after a firm opening on the back of soaring carbon prices. Prices for carbon allowances for 2006 soared all the way to EUR 21.50/tonne this morning, before easing off to a last trade at 17.00 at the ICE/ECX.
