The Thursday market opened down seeing a wet end in the forecasts, but lifted a few NOK during thin morning trading as players chose not to believe it quite yet. A trader at a Norwegian producer argued that the strong spot is in the hands of thermal power producers and the heatwave on the Continent, but that eventually the competition would be fought over producing hydropower.
The hydropower producers are doing what the politicians ask them to; holding back on water, another trader at another Norwegian producer said. The morning market was relatively eventless, seeing V2-03 open at 340 NOK/MWh lifting to 345 NOK/MWh. The spot remains strong and is expected to strengthen further next week, and according to the first trader, it is the Swedish and Danish producers in pa
