Most markets saw rising prices yesterday. Crude oil climbed to well above USD 56 level, both in New York and London, CO2 was finding new ground above EUR 20 and gas forwards were also gaining. Only coal was generating a mixed price picture.
Carbon showed no signs of abating yesterday, as the 2005 vintage started the day up at around the EUR 20.00/t mark, and traded gradually up, with trades as high as 20.50 seen. “It’s easy for this market to be traded up, if players want it,” said one trader, remarking that it was interesting that the market stopped at the level it did yesterday.
