Oil prices are recovering on Tuesday morning following Monday`s plunge which was triggered by a gloomy macro-economic picture, players said.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 48.60/bbl on the ICE platform, up USD 0.61 on Monday's close. In New York, the WTI contract for delivery in May last traded up USD 0.46 at USD 48.87/bbl.
On Monday, however, the Brent contract plummeted USD 3.99 to end the day at USD 47.99/bbl, while the May contract in New York shed USD
