The price of oil increased by around two dollars yesterday on expectations that Opec might slash output. Carbon prices were sold down early in the day, but closed around the same levels as on Tuesday.
The front month crude contract at Nymex settled at USD 62.96/barrel yesterday, up 1.95 from the previous day’s session. The contract traded down at 60.10 early in the day on the back of bearish inventory figures from theUS . But later in the day, prices climbed above 63 dollars as fears that Opec might cut production to stem prices outshone the inventory figures, Financial Times reports.
