Commodities - Oil hits new record

Oil prices hit a new record of USD 112.21/barrel in New York yesterday, and remains above the 110 level this morning. Strong oil prices also made an impact on other fuel markets yesterday.
At the end of the day, the front month WTI contract at Nymex settled at USD 110.87/barrel, up 2.37 day on day. In London, Brent for May was up 2.12 at USD 108.47/barrel.Prices came up after the US energy department announced a surprisingly strong fall of 3.1 million barrels in oil inventories last week.
