Commodities - Oil prices soften

Prices softened across oil, UK gas and CO2 markets Tuesday compared with the previous session, while coal prices continued to climb higher.
On the Nymex exchange in New York, light sweet crude oil prices for May lost 59 cents on the previous, with a settlement price of USD 108.50/barrel. While the weaker dollar makes people swap cash for commodities, lifting oil prices further away from the USD 100 mark, coal prices are gaining ground on the back of pressure from the fixing of the Australia-Japan benchmark price.
