With oil prices softening on Friday as bearish impulses from the US overshadowed more positive economic news, it was "do or die for the bears”, said one player.
The front month contract for Brent North Sea crude oil was last seen changing hands at USD 73.10/bbl on the ICE platform, USD 0.23 below the previous close. In New York, the WTI October contract traded down USD 0.41 at USD 72.50/bbl.
On Thursday, the Brent contract ended the day USD 1.26 lower at USD 73.33/bbl after having peaked at USD 74.78/bbl, while the WTI contract shed USD 0.9
