Crude oil was trading at new record highs again in the morning session on Tuesday, but the afternoon saw prices softening as profit taking was believed to be taking place. Gas markets represented more of a mixed price picture, while carbon was mainly changing hands at around EUR 22.
The early trading in the crude oil markets yesterday saw futures at fresh highs before profit-taking made prices retreat in the afternoon. The September contract in New York hit a new record of USD 64.27/barrel early on, but eased by the end of day to settle at 63.07.
