The beginning of the new week was marked surging oil prices, with record high settlements at both NYMEX and the IPE. The high oil prices have also affected the gas and carbon prices, while coal have only seen marginal changes.
Crude oil prices surged at the beginning of this week, mainly on the news of geopolitical tensions but also that US embassy and consulate buildings were shut in Saudi Arabian cities “due to a specific and credible threat”, Financial Times reports.
