The price of CO2 allowances jumped above 28 euros yesterday, for the first time since July. Oil prices were also pushed further up on the back of a surprisingly strong decline in US gasoline stocks.
The benchmark December 2006 contract gained more than one euro day-on-day to settle at EUR 28.80/tonne on the ICE/ECX, having traded within a range of 28.90 and 27.55 during the day.
