The price for emitting carbon continued rising Thursday, with allowances for December 06 delivery surging past the EUR 29 mark. Oil prices rose as well, trading above USD 68 during the day before prices came off again in late trade.
Carbon prices climbed further yesterday, with the December 2006 contract being traded above 29 euros for most of the day, reaching an intraday high of EUR 29.50 in early trade before dropping to 28.80.
