The price of emitting carbon fell Tuesday morning but came back up along with German power in the afternoon. Oil prices saw a different scenario as weaker US demand pulled prices down in the afternoon.
In the carbon market, the December 2006 contract opened down at EUR 22.80/allowance on the ICE but finished the day 40 cents higher at 23.20, down 5 cents from Monday.
