Nordic power has hit all-time highs again on Wednesday morning on the back of bullish weather input, but market players disagree on the rationale for the price rally.
The benchmark Q1 11 contract had gained EUR 2.35 day on day at EUR 76.75/MWh, while Q2 11 had risen by EUR 1.35 to 58.60/MWh. Meanwhile, the YR 11 contract had climbed by EUR 1.00 to EUR 59.00/MWh.
"The curve looks expensive, and there's good reason for it, with a dry and cold outlook,” Frank Evensen from Norway's QEB brokerage said.
