Nordic power prices jumped sharply on Thursday morning in response to drier weather forecasts and rising oil, market players said.
The Q4 contract was last seen trading at EUR 48.95/MWh, up 90 cents day on day. It reached a high of EUR 49.00/MWh earlier in the morning. Drier weather forecasts are the main reason behind the price jump, a Norwegian analyst said, along with a natural correction of the market following the recent heavy falls.
