Expectations of a weakening spot price help push front contracts down today. The forward contracts opened up this morning, but have now turned downwards.
“The front is weak, due to expectations of higher inflows and a weakening spot. The longer end of the curve is more stable, and influenced by firm prices on CO2 and German power,” a trader comments.Although traded volumes have doubled compared to yesterday, the market has still been described as quiet.
