Dry weather and rising oil were said to be the main reasons why Nordic power prices are rising on Wednesday.
The Q3 09 contract was last seen at EUR 37.60/MWh, up 41 cents from Tuesday, while the front year contract was up 35 cents at EUR 40.50/MWh.
"Prices are rising on the back of stronger oil prices and drier weather forecasts. We also saw in the system price for today that producers are getting increased control,” said a Swedish trader.
