Nordic Market - Tumbling forward prices

The week is starting off with a significant drop in the forward market. The fall is mainly caused by weather forecasts showing a turn to mild and wet weather, but several other signals are bearish as well, market players comment.
The nearest week contract has lost 16 NOK from Friday, while the months are down around 10 NOK. Q1-06 is last traded at EUR 38.77/MWh, down 93 eurocents from Friday. In addition to the weather forecasts, the market is influenced by falling German power prices and a softening carbon market. Nordic power prices seemed to head further down in early trade, but have strengthened during the morning. Q1-06 has gained to EUR 39.85/MWh, after being traded at 39.10 earlier today.
