Nordic forward prices opened south this morning, mainly on the back on significantly decreased prices on carbon in early trade. However, the price of emissions is climbing again, with the Nordic forwards following suit.
“The CO2 prices are clearly ruling the Nordic forward market today. Prices opened south in both markets but as soon as the carbon prices started gaining, the Nordic power prices followed. Especially the Year’07 product has jumped, compared with this morning,” says a Norwegian trader.Year’06 has been traded in the range 34.55-35.05 to a last trade at EUR 34.90/MWH.
