Nordic forward prices are rising on Tuesday morning due to a stronger CO2 price and some drier weather forecasts, players said.
The Q3 11 contract last traded at EUR 43.90/MWh at Nasdaq OMX, up EUR 0.50 from Monday, while the 2012 contract last changed hands at EUR 45.75/MWh, up EUR 0.35. "It seems that the stronger CO2 price is the key driver today. The market opened up following a strong close yesterday, then it fell back before the CO2 price rose significantly, lifting the market,” a Norwegian trader said.
