Weaker oil and coal prices were said to be the main reason behind a strong fall in Nordic forwards Wednesday morning.
At the time of writing, Q4-08 was down 1.75 at EUR 66.40/MWh while Year 09 had lost 1.90 to EUR 59.40/MWh.
"Oil and coal are definitely the main drivers. The weather forecast remains very dry and normally I would have expected the front to go up, but this morning we had one or two rather aggressive sellers who managed to push prices down," a Swedish trader said,The front year coal contract is down around eight dollars from yesterday at USD 170/tonne while oil is heading further below the USD
