Nordic Market - Soft, but cautious

Monday started out very quiet, and there were no trades at Nord Pool until 9.30. So far the activity is concentrated on the year 2006 and V2-05 contracts, both softening from Friday.
Just before noon, V2-05 is trading at 314 NOK/MWh, down 2.75 NOK from Friday, while Year 06 has lost 0.60 EUR to a last trade of 34.75 EUR/MWh. “It has been a very quiet morning, but prices are pointing downwards, mainly due to wet forecasts. Nordic prices are adjusting upwards again today after a soft opening. V2-05 was traded at 301 NOK/MWh earlier today, but has later increased to 312 NOK/MWh. According to market players, a further rise is currently the most likely scenario.

The market seems very uncertain after yesterday’s collapse, and during the morning trading session, V2-05 is traded in a 310-321 NOK/MWh range. A lot of players probably need to take a breather before taking new positions.
