Nordic Market - Rain limits the upside

The Nordic market is moving sideways from yesterday’s close. The weather is still looking wet, and should limit the upside in the autumn price, players say.

The activity in the Nordic market is limited Monday morning. V2-05 opened rather firm, but has softened during the forenoon trading session. The autumn contract was traded at 306 NOK/MWh at Nord Pool earlier today, before coming off to 300.75. The contract last changed hands at 302 NOK/MWh, down 2 NOK from Friday.

Strengthening prices on CO2 are contributing to higher forward prices at Nord Pool this morning. Weather forecasts look slightly drier, but are still showing well above normal precipitation levels.
