Nordic power prices are following a strong oil price upwards on Wednesday morning, but the upside was dampened by strong precipitation during the last 24 hours, traders said.
Brent oil for July was last seen at USD 62.06/bbl in London, up 82 cents day on day but well above the USD 59.10/bbl it was traded at when Nord Pool closed for trading on Tuesday afternoon.
"When oil rises as much as it does, few players dare to go short,” said a Danish trader, adding that stronger oil and CO2 prices had caused a rise in Nordic and continental power prices
