The Nordic Q1 12 power contract has hit a new all-time low of EUR 39.15/MWh on Wednesday amid a change to milder forecasts and a record low CO2 market.
"The indications of colder weather we saw in yesterday's forecasts have disappeared today. This is the main reason why prices are coming down again,” said Per Arne Austli, trader at Norwegian utility Trønderenergi. The Q1 12 contract has hit a new low of EUR 39.15/MWh, 10 cents below the previous low from Monday, but EUR 1.30 lower than Tuesday's closing price.
