The benchmark Q3-06 contract touched 50 euros this morning before easing down on some wetter forecast at the end of the 10-day period.
“We have had a very dry June so far with only half of normal precipitation being delivered. Today’s early forecast was also dry, but later models are wetter in the end of the 10-day period, and that is probably the reason why prices have come down again,” says Jens Østbye, trader at Eidsiva Energi. After touching EUR 50/MWh, Q3-06 was last traded at 48.95 (-0.37).
