Nordic Market - Prices jump on cold and fry weather

Nordic power prices are opening the new year strongly as the cold and dry weather over the region is set to continue, players said.
The Q2 10 contract was last seen at EUR 41.75/MWh at Nord Pool, up EUR 2.35 from the last trading day of 2009. Year 2011 was up EUR 1.56 at EUR 43.71/MWh. "The weather remains cold and dry and prices are thus continuing in one direction,” said a Norwegian trader. The weather has been unusually cold over the Christmas and New Year holidays and is likely to stay 6.3 deg
