Nordic power prices are falling on Monday mainly because the Opec decided against further production cuts at its meeting over the weekend, market players said.
The bellwether Q2 09 contract was last seen at EUR 30.45/MWh at Nord Pool, down 90 cents from Friday, while Year 2010 was down EUR 1 at EUR 30.80/MWh.
"It is the mainly the Opec decision that has affected the market today. The weather forecasts are fairly neutral compared to Friday and the spot price was also according to expectation,” said Andreas Persson, analyst at Telg
