Nordic power contracts are down after a strong opening on Thursday morning due to wet weather forecasts and uncertainties surrounding the macroeconomic situation, players said.
The Q4 11 contract was last seen down 30 cents day on day at EUR 48.70/MWh, despite opening strongly, peaking at EUR 49.45/MWh.
The weaker power prices are mainly due to the continued wet weather forecasts on top of very heavy rains and an already strong hydrological balance in the Nordic region, said Janne Savolainen at Finnish brokerage Energiameklarit.
