Nordic power prices are continuing to rise on Wednesday on a mix of drier weather forecasts and stronger fuel prices, and some players are worried about missing the start of an uptrend.
The Q1 10 contract was last seen at EUR 33.80/MWh at Nord Pool, up 35 cents day on day, while YR 10 was up 45 cents at EUR 33.80/MWh. "Emissions and coal are up and the weather forecasts are dry and cold for the 10-day period. Prices are also rising because players have been forced to go out of their short positions,” said Anton Holton, trader at Swedish utility Dala Kraft.
