Prices in the Nordic power market opened strongly north this morning on dry weather prognoses and firm CO2 prices. V2-05 opened this week on a new record level; 322 NOK/MWh, but was last traded at 325.50 NOK/MWh, up 9.25 NOK from Friday.
“The most important factor driving the Nordic power prices is definitely the strong carbon prices. We’ve seen the December contract surge past 28.25 EUR/tonne today in the OTC market, up 2 EUR from Friday. Moreover, prices on oil turned north on Friday again, continental prices are up and the weather prognoses have again turned drier. All parameters are bullish,” says a broker
