Forward prices are heading south Monday morning, with players attributing the fall to fairly wet forecasts and a system price below expectations.
The front quarter opened at EUR 56/MWh, before being sold down to EUR 54.50. "Prices fell quickly this morning. The weather is quite wet, and the hydrological balance has improved lately, so a fall is quite reasonable. However, I am uncertain of the direction from here. I assume Q1-08 could be traded back and forth around the EUR 55 level for a while," said Sigvald Maldal at Lyse Handel.
