In a quiet day of trading, much of the focus is on Swedish nuclear production, which is only running at half output on the eve of the final closure of Barsebäck 2 (800 MW). Forward prices are heading northwards on thin volumes.
Although a legal dispute has caused some uncertainty over its final closure date, the official line still is that Barsebäck 2 will be closed down for good at midnight tomorrow. This will put further strain on the capacity in southern Sweden, where the nuclear reactors today only utilize 47 per cent of their combined capacity.
