Nordic Market - Increased demand

Spot prices are likely to stay strong over the weekend as plunging temperatures have caused a considerable increase in consumption. In the forwards market, prices are edging up on low volumes.
Power consumption across the Nordics is up more than 4,000 MW from yesterday in the morning hours today, due to temperatures well below zero. The increased demand is largely met by increased Norwegian hydropower production, whereas Danish wind power output is much lower than yesterday.Low temperatures and little wind in Denmark should keep the spot around 240 NOK/MWh for the next two or

Nordic Market - Bouncing back and forth
The forward market dropped quite heavily this morning, but has later recovered to trade more or less on par with yesterday’s closing prices. A Norwegian trader said we are witnessing a small adjustment after the strong bearish movements yesterday.
