Nordic Market - Hydrological impact

Prices at Nord Pool are softening today. According to market players, the present hydrological situation should contribute to a further fall in the forward prices.
The system price is 198.22 NOK/MWh today. The closing price in the week contract was 203.91 NOK/MWh on Thursday. The system price for Tuesday is estimated to increase slightly to around 200 NOK/MWh.  “The spot prices show that hydrology and hydro power are price-setting, and that the hydrology definitely matters. In the Nordic power market, the front week opened down this morning on wetter forecasts and rather strong reservoir figures. However, all other products still head north and close to mid day, week 26 followed suit. According to market players, the sentiment is bull, bull, bull.
