The front year Nordic power contract is up almost one euro on Monday morning, on the back of stronger coal and oil prices, players said.
The Year 2010 contract was last seen at EUR 35.35/MWh, up 80 cents from Friday, while Q2-09 was down 5 cents at EUR 32.70/MWh.
"Coal is the main price driver today with a three-dollar increase since Friday. Oil is also rising and there is a much more positive sentiment in the markets in general,” said Preben Olsen, trader at Norwegian power producer BKK.
