Near-term contracts are trading down in the Nordic power market this morning, driven by a softer weather forecast and a lower than expected system price for Monday, traders said.
The February contract was last seen EUR 2 lower at EUR 71.50/MWh, and the Q2 11 had shed 65 cents to EUR 55.70/MWh, after opening at EUR 55/MWh. The system price for Monday had come out at EUR 72.96/MWh, EUR 3-4 lower than what the market had expected, traders said.
