Nordic Market - Free fall

Nordic power prices continue down today, on the back of plunging prices on CO2 and German power, as well as wet prognoses. V2-05 has lost 15.50 NOK from yesterday’s close.
The autumn contract opened at 334 NOK/MWh, and dropped all the way to 322 before making a slight recovery, last changing hands at 324.50 NOK/MWh.“Carbon prices and German power prices are plunging, and the weather forecasts are wet. The market seems very uncertain after yesterday’s collapse, and during the morning trading session, V2-05 is traded in a 310-321 NOK/MWh range. A lot of players probably need to take a breather before taking new positions.

Nordic Market - “Probably just profit-taking”
After a strong start, Nord Pool prices are heading downward towards noon. V2-05 soared above the 350 NOK/MWh mark this morning, but was last traded at 345 NOK/MWh. Falling CO2 prices might have contributed to the fall, but the main reason is probably profit-taking, one trader comments.
