Nordic Market - Following Germany

The Nordic power market opened very quietly Friday morning, and there were no trades until 0835 hours. After that, the volatile development from yesterday seems to continue. Germany is still the main price driving element, according to the players.
Resembling the movements from yesterday, the Summer-05 contract opened at 259.50 NOK/MWh, dropped to 255.50, before climbing to 261. The Nordic power market traded sharply down in the morning hours, but has later returned back towards yesterday’s closing levels. Players point at profit taking as the most plausible explanation for the fall that started at noon yesterday, and don’t rule out more bullish movements ahead.
