Nordic Market - Dry and high

The Nordic power market has gained during the morning session, mainly as a result of dry forecasts and firming prices for carbon allowances and German power. Meanwhile, the system price was somewhat weaker than expected before the weekend, according to market players.
Q1-06 has surged past the EUR 40 mark, after being tested several times last week. The Nordic forward prices are slightly up this morning on the back of strong German prices and high CO2 prices. However, the front contracts are greatly influenced by the uncertain weather development and most of these contracts are down this morning.
