Nordic Market - Down with the rain

The downward movements continue this morning, sparked by very wet forecasts. Players also point at falling CO2 prices and more bearish technical signals as reasons for the drop.

This morning, prices opened up on very dry weather forecasts compared to yesterday’s models. However, during the morning trading session, prices eased off again as later weather models show more precipitation. In general, turnover and activity is low.

After a jumpy start, Nordic forward prices have adjusted downwards on the back of falling prices on German power and CO2. Liquidity remains low, however, with only 446 GWh traded at Nord Pool so far.
