Falling coal prices are pushing the Nordic forward prices down Thursday morning, with somewhat wetter forecasts and a thin holiday market contributing to a substantial fall.
Coal prices plunged yesterday afternoon, with the year 2009 contract falling below the USD 200/tonne mark on the API2 curve. This morning, the coal market is weakening further, and the 2009 contract has been traded between USD 192 and 195 so far.At Nord Pool, the front quarter was last seen at EUR 62.50, down four euros day on day, while YR-09 was traded at EUR 59.50 last, down 2.85 euro
