Nordic Market - Doubting the Q1 level

The forward market climbs further Tuesday morning, mostly as a result of continued cold and dry forecasts. Still, the spot prices must start increasing to defend the level in Q1-06, market players comment.
A trader in Sweden points at the weather prognoses as the main price driver this morning, but assumes it takes more to keep the prices at today’s level. “The weather forecasts are rather bullish. However, to defend the level in Q1-06, we need to see spot prices above 300 next week. Regarding fundamental factors, the contract seems a bit expensive,” says the trader.

Prices at Nord Pool are shooting up this morning, based on fear of cold weather and rocketing spot prices. Next week has gained 20 NOK, while the winter months have added more than a euro from Friday.
