The Nordic front market rose on dry forecasts on Tuesday morning, while contracts further out on the curve headed down following yesterday's price fall on oil.
The Q1 09 contract was last seen at EUR 43.50/MWh, up 10 cents from Monday's close, having reached a low of EUR 43.00/MWh earlier. The front year contract was last seen at EUR 38.30/MWh, down 38 cents.
"A drop in prices on Brent oil and on the German Cal 09 power contract pulled the Nordic power market down,” said Arne Österlind, trader at Swedish fund manager Sheperd.
