Nordic power forwards are nosediving on Monday morning on the back of a soft spot price, a mild and wet weather outlook as well as profit-taking.
The April 2011 contract had shed EUR 4.35 at EUR 65.40/MWh, while the front quarter had plunged by EUR 3.70 to EUR 57.50/MWh, erasing gains from last week. A mild and wet weather outlook had eased the threat of a squeezed power balance ahead of the spring thaw, while Monday's system price, at EUR 66.58/MWh, had delivered nearly EUR 3 below Friday's expectations, traders agreed.
