Nordic electricity derivatives are softening on Wednesday morning on the back of weaker fuels and emissions, closely tracking German power.
The April 2011 contract had lost EUR 0.95 day on day at EUR 59.25/MWh, while the Q2 11 contract had shed EUR 0.80 at EUR 55.15/MWh. Further out, the 2012 contract had fallen by EUR 0.75 to EUR 49.55/MWh. "Nordic power is a slave to Germany, both on the front and back ends, driven by weaker fuels and CO2,” said Arne Österlind at Sheperd Energy in Stockholm.
