The weather forecasts are wetter than yesterday, but prices at Nord Pool have come up. For instance, V2-05 was last traded at 274.75 NOK/MWh, up 0.25 NOK from yesterday.
“The signals are a bit contradictory today. Increasing German power prices, plus a bullish CO2 market, are working against the wet prognoses. Still, if we keep getting 1 TWh of precipitation a day, prices will crack eventually,” says Nils Petter Benjaminsen at Eidsiva energi. He is prepared for a brief collapse in the spot price, but expects higher prices in the longer term.
