Nordic Market - Confirmed chill

Confirmed drier and colder weather forecasts contribute to a firm market this morning, but the price movements are not as large as yesterday. Q1-06 was traded at EUR 39.75/MWh earlier, but last changed hands at EUR 39.60, up 30 cents.
Per Arne Austli at BKK sees a further upwards potential in the market.”The market is firm, and I believe it will keep strengthening. If the hydro power producers in Norway and Sweden charge higher prices, as they should, the system price should be lifted considerably. The next ten days look very dry and quite cold, which should be a good opportunity to lift the curve,” says A

The Nordic power prices opened up this morning and continued to strengthen significantly during the morning trading session. Q1-06 has surged more than one euro, YR’06 more than 70 cents.
